SUNRISE or SUNSET
A sunriser gives off energy, a sunsetter sucks it away. I hate to take all of society and drop it into two categories, quite frankly it scares me, but I think that John is right. Think about the people in your life and it really isn’t that hard to tell if they are a sunriser or a sunsetting. Are the people around you enabling you and your ideas or are the disabling your thinking? There...

the art of the idea
From time to time you have the opportunity to read a book that changes your perspective on a subject. On an even more rare occasion you read a book that changes the way you think. Just recently I had the opportunity to read a book that changes the way I approach every aspect of my life. The book: The Art of the Idea: And How It Can Change Your Life by John Hunt. I am currently reading through...

An Immigrants Prison
It was a strange feeling. Analu had never felt this way before and he wasn’t sure what to do with the knots and tangles that grew from within his stomach and made their way up is throat. He could imagine a rose bush starting as a small seed deep within his stomach and quickly growing throughout his body with the thorns ripping through his internals every inch as the rose looked for sun...

Mooresville Online →
For all things Mooresville, NC related be sure to check out Mooresville Online—we are working to make it better. I am learning that just making small improvements at a time can be much easier and have a larger payoff then trying to huge redesigns/redevelopments of whole projects once every few years. Anti-marketing design is very powerful.

TumblrAPI.NET on CodePlex →
I have just published my first CodePlex project, and it just so happens to be a .NET interface for the Tumblr API. Currently it is a very early Alpha version—feel free to download the source code and have at it.

Google Mail--what?
Please tell me Google is playing a 4 month early April Fool’s joke on us. Google has recently changed the name of its Gmail service to be Google Mail. Gmail has become one of the best e-mail services available and is well know as Gmail. What a great name! Why e-mail when you can Gmail? Now, Google goes and pulls a Microsoft-like marketing move by renaming it to the Google Mail services. ...

C I Host Responds to Robbery Reports →
This has got to be one of the biggest cop-outs I may have ever heard a corporation make when they have made as large of a mistake as they did. They obviously have security wholes but are trying to blame it on other people and take no responsibility for it. You get what you pay for, but you would think your servers would at least be safe from someone walking in and taking them.

Here is a whole different approach to advertising then I have talked about before. Viral marketing on the internet has obviously got some roots and must be picking up some momentum as large companies have started to invest in them. I have yet to see firsthand how they produce results—but it is certainly interesting. I will post the video directly in a moment—but did want to share this...

If you ever need to send a large file to someone it can be a pain to do so via e-mail. Check out this free service that makes it simple by allowing you to upload the file and providing a link for you to give out. I love that they have the expiration and the simplicity of the site. I love the fact that you don’t have to login to use it and you can use files up to 100MB (usually large enough...
